Photovoltaic glazing & safety glass

  • Naps Solar Estonia can manufacture using two main technologies – Glass/Glass and Glass/Backsheet solar modules.
  • Photovoltaic solar modules can be designed and adapted according to specific technical requirements.
  • Equipped with high efficiency photovoltaic cells coming in a multitude of combinations according to the glass dimensions, thickness, shapes, glass types, cutouts, solar cell efficiency, cell types, interlayers, patterns and colours.

Glass/Backsheet (folio) solar modules

Sandwiched between solar glass on the front side and TPT or PPE backsheet on the bottom. The most popular and commonly used technology in the world for crystalline solar panels. Performance: 80 percent of their nameplate capacity after 20 years of operation.

Glass/Glass solar modules

Sandwiched between glass on both the front and back, solar cells are optimally protected against environmental factors such as water intrusion. Cells are also less susceptible to shear stress, thereby reducing cell breakage. Performance: 80 percent of their nameplate capacity after 30 years of operation.

Coloured nanotechnological module

  • A nanotechnological film, which is integrated in the PV module during its production by the PV manufacturer, in order to render a mirror-like surface white or any other desired colour.
  • This feature is essential to develop active facades in the BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) field. Thanks to this product, we obtain a full construction element.


This technology allows one to convert infrared solar light into electricity. The selective scattering filter scatters the whole visible spectrum while transmitting infrared light. Any solar technology based on crystalline silicon can now be used to manufacture white — and coloured — modules.
The method consists of a plurality of layers, to highly reflect visible light while transmitting infrared. The scattering of the visible light, necessary to give a white appearance to a mirror-like surface, is achieved by growing the filter on a micro-structured surface.


Kromatix – adding colour to the solar industry

  • The unique patented nano-deposition technology for the colour coating of solar glass Kromatix™.
  • The colour of Kromatix™ solar glass is obtained by a complex nanoscale multilayer deposition by plasma processes.
  • Kromatix™ is currently available in six colours, Grey, Blue, Blue Green, Orange, Bronze and Brass.
  • No paints or tints are used to colour the glass; therefore, it remains stable with time and sun exposure, and thanks to the unique Kromatix™ technology, the average transmittance is between 85% and 90% depending on the colour.
  • The coloured solar glass is produced in various dimensions and thicknesses, and can be processed in the same way as standard solar glass in order to fit the customer’s production process.

The examples of Kromatix coloured glass usage

Colour-treated glass for photovoltaic (PV) and thermal panel applications involves the application of highly efficient and environmentally friendly nanotechnology surface treatments optimised for solar energy (photovoltaic and thermal). This means the product has no paint or tint, but atomic deposition transforms the solar glass into a colour. Kromatix™ technology offers vast new opportunities, combining full architectural design flexibility and unparalleled panel aesthetics with optimum panel performance for solar building integration.
Kromatix™ glass is the front glass layer of a solar panel and can be applied to a large variety of solar powered products and technologies.
Kromatix™ glass can be delivered standalone or as complete coloured solar (PV or Thermal) panels in various sizes and thicknesses.

Digital printing onto glass

We offer digitally printed glass – it is possible to print any RAL code or photographic image directly onto the glass.
Digital printing enables the decoration of glass with very complex and multicoloured shapes, pictures and patterns. The technology is one of the newest ways of decorating glass and allows the glass to be used both indoors and outdoors. Digitally printed glass can be used for example on facades, partition walls, railing and balustrades, doors, windows, furniture etc. The possibilities are endless.

The multi-layer glass structures with integrated solar modules can be used to provide thermal insulation. In addition, most modules can also be integrated into double or triple glazing units or used as alternative secondary glazing as front cladding for curtain, wall or roof insulation elements.
